"Cleaners make lousy disinfectants. Disinfectants make lousy cleaners and Cleaner/Disinfectants are the worst," says Graeme Marsh our guest this afternoon on Beyond Clean With ACE.

The biological attack on surfaces is continuous, so must be the products used.  Can we not use beneficial bugs to counteract the bad ones.
We use probiotics within our bodies to balance, displace the bad bugs within.
"Check out the TED talk by Dr. Jessica Green," says Graeme.
 
Why not clean with a probiotic and transfer them around instead of bad bugs?  We need good microbes in our environment.  Use them!

Three Key Things you need to be doing as a CEO to get your business to Profit, Cash Flow, and Wealth as well as be recession-proof in 2022, according to Kirsha Campbell, our guest speaker today.
Be Aware of All Costs - Being aware helps you manage the changes by having systems in place.
Know the real numbers - labor is highest, fixed costs must be itemized
Track them - then you see them
Are income streams leading to cash?
Profit & Cash - Cash is King
Business Health - Don'ts
Don't put money into the business for basic expenses.
Don't have accounts receivables of high value.
Don't have enough sales coming in.
Don't have one client responsible for 90% of sales.
You'll have to listen to the last tip.

Steve Fredlund asks,
”What causes leaders to be unhappy?"

BCWA S6:E19 The Challenges & Rewards of Face to Face Meetings in Facility Management

Mike Ward, a Facilities Manager at a school district in Ohio says, "There are a few options on how to handle Face-to-Face meeting situations."
Use surveys to set up the meetings prior to going into the particulars.  
Take a direct services staff member with you; ie. a plumber, electrician, custodian, etc.
Show the super or principal what you know is happening from surveys you have done, maybe even how to use the system fully.
Do a building walk, be sure that a service staff member is with you.
Mike says these will change depending on the age of the buildings and can range up to an hour or more.  Principals know what they want to show you.
Always ask what they feel needs room for improvements.  Some of the challenges is knowing your principals as they change, depending on how large the district is.
Mike says, "You're never done with customer service."

BCWA S6:E18 Sean DeVore ”The New Warm Call”

Sean DeVore, a regular here on this podcast talks with Dave about the NEW blended sales call.
Traditional "Cold Call" is dead, the time when you stopped and dropped off a business card.
The "Warm Call" is where you use social media to learn all you can and navigate the waters of the call before making that first contact.  Remember, you have 2.3 seconds to make that first impression!
Don't be afraid of IT issues, embrace them and become proficient.
Learn from the field experience of the seasoned pro, but also from the young IT-savvy, both can help each other.  
Sean talks about it all.  He mentions Vidyard, videos you embed into your email.  Be careful when using the same old tired email.  
Tutorial Videos are the new way to reach out, says Sean.

"People & Communication is top of the list," says Mike Ward, a Facilities Manager at a school district in Central Ohio.
 
"I think we have gotten too comfortable with an email or text,"  Mike says.

We need to get to know people better in order to have harmony in our communication.

BCWA S6:E16 Kenny Seybold says that Communication is key to Facility Maintenance

Kenny Seybold is the Director of Custodial Operations at Flagler County schools in Palm Coast, FL.
Kenny tells us in this episode that COMMUNICATION is the key to all facility maintenance issues.  It is with everyone, from the Superintendent, Principal, Asst. Principal to the frontline custodian, it is the most important issue on every level.
Kenny and Flagler use a program called Essential Assets for work orders and Event Manager.
From the Home Show with over 30,000 people to the 1,500 person auditorium, a middle schools dance, to the wrestling matches, all of these have to be coordinated with facilities management because come Monday morning, the students will be utilizing all of these same areas for learning.
"If you are new to Facility Maintenance, you need to have communicational skills above all," says Kenny.
